I had this drive for about 9 months, using it as a backup. It suddenly it stopped working, and I received an error message that the drive was not recognized. Needless to say, it was filled with very critical data, which cannot be recovered. I am very disappointed with Wester Digital. It is horrible to make a product so cheaply, which people rely on for such critical use.
Great, reliable, portable (2009-05-25)
When I first got this, I used it with my PC, now I use it with my MAC. I have never had problem with data loss. I love the size, it fits in my laptop case easily. Excellent for backing up data.
Got it just in time (2009-05-08)
This is great! It arrived just before my laptop died and I was able to save a whole lot of my stuff. I have had absolutely no problems with it. It writes and reads very quickly. Definitely better then the 4 GB discs I was using before. I'd recommend this to anyone who needs to back things up often.
Great Deal (2009-03-31)
This external hard drive is amazing. I bought it for my girlfriend because her laptop keeps dying and needs reformatted every few months. She keeps anything that she doesn't want to lose on this hard drive.
It's very small, runs silently, and is practically bullet-proof. It frequently gets dropped down our ladder a good 8-feet and smashed against tables. It's nice to know that important data will not be lost no matter what you do to this thing.
Perfect External Drive (2009-03-28)
I have had TWO of these devices running almost constantly for 6 months, I've dropped them on numerous, carrying them around in my backpacks second pocket (which is filled with all sorts of junk), lent it to friends, and treated them a lot more harsh then I should and they are BOTH still working.
I have not had this good of luck with any external hard drive before.. nothing has ever been able to withstand the whirlwind of portable external drive destruction that is me except for these.
