A great deal for a great product (2010-01-22)
This thing is fast and even smaller than I thought it would be. It's extremely light and the case seems very strong but also quite pleasent to look at. The only thing I can fault it for is the mere fact that it is made by the same company that made my horrible MyBook which overheated hourly until I finally stripped the hard drive out of it and stuck it in a new, better designed enclosure.

I really like this product! I got it home and plugged it right in and was able to use it without any difficult installation :D Not only can I take this information eater anywhere and have it spit out whatever I fed it really fast. It comes really handy and can also expand my original drive!

Best external hard drive ever (2009-07-21)
This is by far the best external hard drive you could buy. I bought this early last year and it still works as good as the first day i got it even after it had been dropped down 3 flights of stairs, dropped in a puddle of water and even vodka was accidentally spilled on it all i had to do was plug it up so that it heats up enough to dry it out and it started back to work perfectly with no data being lost at all. I would highly recommend this hard drive for everyone.

I had this drive for about 9 months, using it as a backup. It suddenly it stopped working, and I received an error message that the drive was not recognized. Needless to say, it was filled with very critical data, which cannot be recovered. I am very disappointed with Wester Digital. It is horrible to make a product so cheaply, which people rely on for such critical use.
