Badass drive (2010-01-21)
While these days 300 Gb is on the low side... what it lacks in storage it makes up in raw speed. I have a Mac Pro, and use Bootcamp to play games so I got this for quickness and not only does it copy, read, run utilities and generally make Windows 7 (which I didn't intend to use a lot or even like) run lightening fast... games run without a moment of stutter. I have a RAID for my Mac OS using 2 WD 7200 RPM drives and this blows it away. Would be tempted to use 2 of these in a RAID but don't have enough drive slots. Very stable drive, quiet, does get a bit warm but reasonable. WD is the best in terms of drives, I've had Seagate and Hitachis die on me under 2 years WD are rock solid stable.

Muy buen producto, tengo alrededor de 3 meses con él y me ha ido perfectamente bien. Lo recomiendo :)
Super Hard Drive (2009-12-15)
This device came in it's box in a slightly lighter box with NO packing materials included of any kind! I was shocked.
When I fire it up, I will be very criticle as to any unusual noises or malfunctions of any kind.
It's not the kind of package I would send across the street with out some type of protection.
Computer mags rate this Hard Drive with high honors which is why I purchaced it. I hope it wasn't damaged in shipping.
great hdd (2009-11-28)
overall quality is great, great warranty, superfast, would suggest getting more than one and using raid.
Ok but not that great (2009-11-26)
Works well for a mechanical drive, but nothing impressive. Don't expect huge improvement over Caviar Black for instance, which is available at 2 TB capacity for a fraction more. The main problem with mechanical drives is the seek time, and having faster rotations does little to help with that. Having said that, it is ok as a boot drive, especially with the ridiculous SSD prices now, but expect huge bottlenecking from them. But, if you plan to, say, buy an i7 975, then by all means save the extra $750 and get a 920 instead, and upgrading from a Velociraptor to an SSD RAID 0 for less than the money you saved would be much more worthwhile.
