Amazon.com Product Description
Combining stylish looks with power sport timing and heart rate monitoring features, this larger Timex Digital Fitness watch (model T5H911) can be worn by both men and women. It features a chest strap heart rate monitor, easily accessible function buttons, durable resin case, and comfortable resin strap with a stylish tapered profile. For integrating heart rate monitoring into your training, this watch enables you to track your avareage heart rate and pre-set target heart rate zones with data for time spent within that zone and alarms. It can also display data for calories burned and offers a recovery timer that measures your heart rate after a timed recovery during or after your workout. Sport timing features include:
  • 100-hour chronograph with lap and split, either in large digits
  • 27-lap memory with average heart rate per laps
  • 100-hour countdown timer
  • Alarm with 5-minute backup
  • Month/day/date display with 12/24-hour time
  • 3.5-year battery life

The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving. All Timex heart rate monitor sensors have batteries that can be replaced by consumers without requiring them to be returned to the manufacturer.

Customer Reviews

Just what I wanted! (2010-03-07)
I went looking for a HRM and Amazon had the best selection. This model took some time to get set and figure out how to use it, but was worth it. I now have everything set and it's very comfortable to wear and work out with. I wanted to know how many calories I burned and it's perfect.

No more Polar HRMs for me! (2009-12-29)
The last Polar HRM I had died and I assumed it was the battery. Nope the whole thing died. So, I decided to get a Timex this time. I liked that the watch battery has a long life and you can change it yourself, vs mail it back to Polar. Also, the chest strap takes a AAA battery!! You don't need to mail it anywhere!

The use of this HRM is a little tricky. You HAVE to use the CHRONO feature or all you get is HR, no calories, etc. Now that I figured that out, I love this HRM. It gets a signal much faster than the Polar, and it seems accurate. I love the zone feature and the recovery feature that keeps track of how much your HR drops in the 1 or 2 minutes after you stop your workout.

This HRM is SO worth the money - equal in features to HRMs that cost hundreds more. I am very satisfied with this purchase!

great monitor (2009-12-21)
After 3 different transmitters then a complete new set I received one that worked. Great customer service but quality control is lacking. So after purchasing it I finally got to use it a month later.
Works great. I like the calories burned feature. This is my first heart rate monitor so I can't compare it to another one. Fairly simple to set up and get running. Info on how to calculate your max heart rate is in the manual and some tidbits on zone training. As with any electronic device with minimal buttons there is a learning curve for navigating the various features.
The reset button inside the transmitter is not illustrated very well. I'm not sure I ever reset it correctly, of course it was a bad unit anyway!

Great monitor at a great price (2009-10-18)
I have been using this heart rate monitor a month now and love it. It picks up my heart rate instantly and is easy to use. I love the fact you can enter age and weight for accurate calorie counting. Has many many features, such as zone training, calorie tracking, watch, and stopwatch. I have a very small wrist and it is not to large.

Has a great "review" feature to track all workout details, elapsed times, min/max heart rate, heart recovery rate, and total calories. Does not show calories burned for each split time, but that is the only thing I have found that I wished it did, but does not.

Price was ridiculously low for this great watch, made in China so may not last forever, but at this price not an issue. Also, love the idea it shipped from Amazon.com and not a 3rd party reseller.

No issues reading at outdoors at night like other reviews mention, the Indiglow is great.

I would buy again and again!

Works as advertised (2009-06-16)
Nothing remarkable to say. As the title says, this heart rate monitor works just like it says. This is the first heart rate monitor I've ever owned, so I don't really know how it compares to similar products. So far, no problems. It seems like it has a fairly full set of features, and the controls seem fairly intuitive.
