AWESOME (2009-11-19)
As I said, its awesome! I have found that the straps can break, but easy to repair. the comfort is great and so user friendly. unlike the casio g-shock its not to bulky and nice features also. A++++ 10/10
Display is hard to read (2008-07-04)
Reviewing Timex 54571:
This is my second Timex Ironman. It has a nice feature set for the recreational/fitness runner: light, compact, and the top button for starting/splits is very convenient. The plastic strap is much better than the nylon/velcro strap on my previous watch, which had to be washed regularly because it absorbed perspiration.
Unfortunately I can't recommend this version of the Ironman for runners because of the display, which has light gray numerals on a black background. It looks cool, but is very hard to read in dim light. Even in bright outdoor light, it takes a second longer to read than my old watch, and it gets annoying really fast.
Also, this version doesn't have some of the features of the newer models, like event alarms, and repeating timers.

I received the watch is good time(not a pun) but with the face in black with clear numbers I find it very difficult to read.
Took a licking even before it was first worn... (2007-01-10)
I ordered this watch as a Christmas present for my husband. A few days later, I noticed a package on the side of the road around the corner from our house while walking our dog. I was surprised when I looked closer and saw my name on the label. We had had a bad, windy storm that week and I guess that's how my package ended up squooshed and soaked on the side of the road. Though the box and plastic packaging were badly damaged, the watch was unscathed and still made a great present. My husband loves it. I've been using Ironman watches as my running watch of choice for years and have never had to do anything other than replace the battery. Great watch choice.
Nice and practical (2007-01-03)
It is a nice looking and practical watch. It fits my basic needs for exercise and triathlon training. The watch is light-weight and water-tight. The functions are easy to access and clear to use. And the price is quite appropriate.
