Works well (2009-09-11)
It took me about 5 minutes to program and it works fine with my old Magnavox DVD player, whose remote just stopped working. What's nice about this remote is that there's a separate set of buttons for skipping chapters on a DVD and for fast forwarding on the DVD. When these features are shared, you often accidentally skip a DVD chapter when you only want to scan forward a minute.
Killed my batteries (2009-08-28)
I received the product and after placing in the batteries, the remote worked for only a day or so...then the batteries exploded inside the remote. Thinking maybe the batteries were bad, I put in another set of new batteries, which the remote again caused the batteries to explode.
Good remote! (2009-08-12)
I inherited a small TV/DVD combo and it needed a remote control. This one works very well.
very easy setup (2009-04-11)
Works OK on my Sharp VCR.
My original sharp remote control broke and I am just happy this one does everything I want. Do not loose the manual! If you do check up this site:

Received the wrong remote, however it works with my TV, it isn't worth the trouble sending back.
