Wish I bought few of em (2009-12-15)
So i bought this about four months back for half the price its being sold at now (98). I really wanted something that also had a cd player but wasnt impressed with anything i've seen thus far. I'm a stickler for good sound and this delivers pretty well. I use it to dock, and charge my ipod touch and i use it for when i wanna play my drums to music. I also have my TV hooked to it cuz this has better sound then my TV lol. I have it mounted my wall in front of my drumset for the best playing experience. Philips I found delivers pretty well when it comes to sound quality and i really wish i picked up a few of these when the price was good. for 200 bux and no cd player don't think it worth THAT much. but bring the price back down i'd for sure recommend it or even by one or two for family and friends.
Mixed Feelings (2009-07-26)
The speakers are the best part of this product, they work great in small rooms for personal use. However, the subwoofer is hard to hear.
This was setup next to my bed to be used as an alarm, but every morning the alarm went off at a fixed volume (cannot be changed), on that is loud enough for my neighbors to complain. Also, the lights from the dock and woofer are a little too bring and bother me when I try to sleep.
Ipod touch? (2009-07-19)
I have not purchased this item yet but i was wondering if it charges the ipod touch second generation? if anyone knows that would be helpful. Thanks, Nathan
Best bang for the buck (2009-07-08)
For the price, this dock setup is great. Great sound quality with both the ipod and radio, nice features, and definitely customizable. The only down side is the bass is somewhat weak, but makes up for this by being wireless! For the price I paid I am VERY happy with the purchase.
Ugh! I gave it a fair chance! (2009-05-27)
I bought this stereo because it looked sleek and I wanted a system that I could hook up to my ipod. Overall, it works nicely. My few complaints are:
- The clock only shows when in standby mode. I wish it would always show.
- The dock for my ipod doesn't fit when I have the case on it. My case has a belt clip that I like to use, so it's a little annoying having to take it off everytime I put it on the docking station.
- You can't adjust the alarm volume (or I haven't figured out how?). It fades in, but it gets too loud. I wish it would remember the volume level when turned off and use that for the alarm volume.
Besides this, I like it.
***UPDATE***
So about 11 months after I bought this, it started to have problems. It would reset itself (as if it was unplugged and then plugged back in) and when it restarted, it would turn on and the volume would be defaulted to 11 and scare me half to death! I had it plugged into a surge protector, so the cause wasn't power outages. I contacted Philips to get it fixed, and they ended up sending me a refurbished one to replace it since they had no idea what was wrong with it. They kept asking me if maybe my building's power went out and I kept having to tell them it was plugged into a surge protector...as if that wasn't the first thing I tried. Luckily I had registered the product and had all the paperwork to prove it was still under warranty (barely!! by less that a month), so I didn't have to pay for it.
***UPDATE #2***
Still having the same problems. I give up. I bought a different docking system from a different brand.
