very short life- will not charge in less than a year of use (2010-07-26)
These batteries are a total waste of money. I bought 2 of them after buying my 5D mark II which was just at a year ago. They quit working after about 3 months. Yes both of them, not just one which would maybe be just a lemon. I can't find a company or name on them to complain to. Yes they are cheap but so are alot of worthless things. I could have taken this amount off of the cost of the Canon battery I had to go ahead and spring for anyway. Just made me pay more in the long run. I would not buy again and definately would not recommend.
LP-E6 Replacement Battery with Charger for Canon EOS 5D MK II (2010-07-15)
Works as indicated. Longer life than Canon battery. The only things you might want to know are:
1) The 5D MK II won't keep track of its charge capacity, and
2) it won't charge in the Canon charger.
Neither of these are in any way detrimental. The battery comes with its own charger, and it seems to supply battery power to the camera FOREVER.
Considering the extremely reasonable price and the terrific battery life between charges, this is an absolute no-brainer in terms of whether to purchase this or another Canon-made battery.
Buy it, you won't be disappointed!
Great AND Cheap Battery for Canon EOS 7D (2010-05-24)
I've been using this since Nov. 2009 and had no problem (power-wise). There were occasions that I used until it was fully drained. However, it didn't impact my pictures nor the 7D. Note: I haven't had the occasion of a battery becoming dead during video - so I can't comment on that.
It the battery becomes dead, the 7D will simply have not power. Nothing worse happened.
More ofen than not, I mix it with the original Canon LP-E6 battery in an "Adorama" brand of battery grip for 7D/5D. This way the battery monitor in the 7D body will show the charge.
Note: You must charge this battery in the charger that came with it. IT WILL NOT CHARGE using the Canon LP-E6 charger.

Great life! (2010-05-07)
Great price, you have to get it if you want to save a few dollars and put them towards a new lens or memory card.
It works just like the Canon as far as battery life. I'm not disappointer at all. I purchased this unit when it first came out still have it and works just fine.
Pros:
Price
Life
Cons:
Another battery charger
No communication with the camera (micro chip)
I will definitely get it again.
Great value (2010-04-26)
I seriously don't understand why everyone is giving this terrible reviews--did you not read the product description? It says it will not communicate with the camera. However, if you know roughly how many shots to expect given your shooting habits, and you have another battery on hand, why does it matter? If you're a professional wildlife photographer I suppose it would be unnerving to think your battery could die at the moment the grizzly does a kung-fu backflip to catch a bald eagle, but then again, you'd probably also have a $6000 telephoto lens and would have bought the normal battery.
The package I received also included a car cigarette adaptor plug and a European (two round pin) to N. American outlet adaptor in addition to the charger and battery. That made my day since I was headed to Europe on a trip and forgot to buy an adaptor.
