Works well and can't beat the price (2010-02-21)
I've been using this with my 580EX-II, 5D Mark II and 24-105 4fL lens.

This product is excellent value for money -- it works very well with the flash, fitting easily over the head with a simple twist of the knob to tighten up. It does the job in terms of lighting, producing even light with circular catch-lights in the eyes. And the price is right, especially compared to a dedicated ring flash or one of the pricier competitors. I love it.

Great item (2010-02-10)
This is a great item, but was a bit unhappy that it wasn't exactly as the image. It lacks the logo on the front, which I PREFER, but I also enjoy Amazon's credibility, being able to see exactly what I am purchasing before hand.
Other than that, it is a great product, and a great competition to the Ray Flash Ring.

Lies, Lies, Lies. (2009-12-14)
This is a great buy! Don't read into the LIES! Good Chinese rip off which works well. What the knob doesn't work? Gotta be smarter than the box you pulled it from, mine's fine, no wedge required, secure fitment on my 580, need a bit of muscle to turn but I work out. Instructions? I'm not going to even bother. What it won't do is accept a 85mm L series with hood through the hole, just too tight. Everything else I have fits, with hoods attached. Quality? No it's not the ultimate, very minor blemishes, like really minor, like Kate Moss with a pimple minor. As this is a copy which falls into a greyish area of patent laws. I'll be buying a couple more before they cease to be available. They do look cool also!

Worth the money (2009-11-29)
Is the Coco ring flash adapter sloppily made of plastic? Yes.
Is it a cheap knockoff of another product? Yes.
Does it work well? Yes.
Is it a great value? Yes.

The Coco ring flash adapter comes nicely packaged in a custom box (you should keep the box to store it in, since it's so oddly shaped). There is no user's manual, aside from three pictures on the side of the box showing how to attach it to a Speedlight. There is a knob on top of the adapter, just like the much more expensive Ray Flash, but it doesn't turn or serve any function. Instead, the box includes a rubber wedge to help tighten the join between the adapter and your Speedlight. In my case, I already had some Velcro on my Speedlight and the adapter fit very snugly without the wedge.

Opening the box, I noticed a powerful smell of glue, similar to model cement. The edge of the transparent circle had a lot of glue residue, indicating that the device was sloppily made. The gray "bridge" at the top of the circle seems to be lined with construction paper (I can see where it has been cut and folded). Despite these quality issues, the Coco ring flash is simple to use and produces good results photographically, so I am satisfied with the purchase.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR (2009-11-15)
The Coco Ring Flash Adapter is cheap in price and in quality.

I can't complain too much seeing as that it was the most affordable of the ring flash adapters, so I should have known what to expect.

At first glance the unit seemed legit, it was certainly going to do what I intended it to do. But after closer inspection I noticed how cheaply produced the item was. In my hands it feels flimsy, nowhere near sturdy, and that's because it's made from really cheap plastic.

What really concerned me was that the unit was lazily pieced together with glue that leaked out from the seams and hardened. It looked like it was put together by mentally challenged 5 year olds with no hands. And that's really unfair to the mentally challenged handless 5 year olds of the world, in all honestly they could probably do a better job putting one of these together.

Another thing that bothered me was it's lack of informational literature it came with. And sure, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it slides right on the flash, but I was so caught off guard by how crappy it was out of box that I figured mine must have been a defective model, or unfinished or missing pieces, and it would have been nice to see some kind of sheet to compare it to so I could figure out if the unit was something that needed to be returned or if it was really supposed to be like that. It was both of these things, I realized.
